Woman’s OD death ruled accidental

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — The coroner is answering questions about a woman’s death behind bars. Toya Frazier was found unresponsive in her cell at the satellite jail in December. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Toxicology reports found Frazier had a deadly level of diphenhydramine in her system. It’s typically found in Aleve PM, which they found hidden in one of her socks in her cell.

An investigation found she snuck the pills into the jail when she was arrested. Her death is ruled accidental.
