Willard to have customs service, but not for all

News

SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — Services at Willard Airport are in the process of being expanded. A new state-of-the-art US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) General Aviation Facility (GAF) is being built next to the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting station.

Entirely funded by Flightstar, it will allow international flights to arrive directly to Willard without having to pass through customs at another airport. However, it will not serve the facility’s commercial operations, but Flightstar President Bill Giannetti says it will make the airport a more attractive destination for corporate and chartered flights.

The facility should be up and running in early 2020.
