Website urges city to opt out of recreational marijuana sales


DECATUR Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois Sheriff’s Association launched a campaign for the city to opt out of selling recreational marijuana.

A website called lists statistics involving marijuana such as teen use, addiction rates, and marijuana traffic related deaths. It also says marijuana sales increase homeless populations, organized crime, and black market sales.

The city council is going to talk about marijuana sales on Monday.
