Village discusses amending liquor license ordinance

News

FISHER, Ill. (WCIA) — The village board met at 6:00 on August 8 to discuss adding a new liquor license classification to the municipal code.

A class A license would allow the sale of alcohol for on-premise consumption.

The owner of Ingold’s Meat and Deli, Brandon Chandler, is proposing a laundromat with video gaming terminals. However, in order to obtain a gaming license, Chandler is required by state law to obtain a liquor license. Community members debated the issue during a village board meeting, with the board ultimately deciding to put it to a vote on August 19.

Under the current municipal code in Fisher, the sale of alcohol for in-premise consumption must be tied to a club organization or related to food sales.
