Troopers investigate after farmer finds human remains in field

BROWNSTOWN, Ill. (WCIA) — Illinois State Police are investigating after they said a farmer found human skeletal remains on Wednesday.

In a news release, troopers said the farmer found the remains in an agricultural field north of U.S. Route 40, near 1700N Street. “The remains will be examined by a forensic anthropologist for identification,” said troopers.

Officers said no other information is available at this time.
