SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — A state police trooper was honored for his role in the standoff with Dracy Pendleon.
Sergeant Jonathan Edwards was given the Fraternal Order of Police’s Life-Saving Award. FOP says he saved the life of an FBI agent during a shootout with Pendleton.
In May, Pendleton shot a Mahomet police officer and fled. A week-long manhunt ended with Pendleton being killed during the shootout.
