MONTICELLO — One man faces charges of arson. 35-year old Matthew Slevin was arrested about 9:30 pm, Tuesday, when crews responded to a business fire at Kelly’s Accounting Service, in the 300-block of West Washington.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke and saw an individual flee from the area on a golf cart. Slevin was taken into custody on the golf course.

Authorities say his clothes were covered with gasoline and he was near the golf cart and handheld blowtorch believed used in the crime.

Additionally, investigators say security footage shows Slevin attempting to set the door on fire.
