DECATUR — The Piatt and Macon county sheriff’s departments are looking for a suspect who escaped after a high-speed chase.

Officials say around 10:00 Saturday night, a driver going more than 100 miles an hour was going westbound on I-72. Deputies in Argenta picked up the chase, then the driver went south on Route 51.

Investigators say they crashed through the gate at the former Sun N’ Fun Swim and Golf Club, then left the car and jumped over a fence, continuing to run.

Authorities are still working to identify and find the driver. If you have any information about that, call them, or Crime Stoppers at 443-TIPS.
