CHAMPAIGN — Police have made an arrest in an armed bank robbery. The heist happened about 12:20 pm, Tuesday, August 30, at the Central Illinois Bank, in the 300-block of West Springfield.
40-year old Carlos Davis is accused of entering the bank, inferring he had a weapon then demanding and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
Monday, authorities say police spotted Davis in traffic and followed him until they could make a secure stop. About 2:25 pm, he was arrested without incident near the corner of Haines and Prospect.
He’s being held on $100,000 bond for aggravated robbery. Officials say the case is still under investigation.
