Solving food insecurity

Volunteers help pack food for community

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA)– Volunteers are helping to put an end to food insecurity. Eastern Illinois Foodbank had a Food Repack Day. Families put labels on cans of food and them put them in boxes for the community. Recently the food bank decided to start having themes for the event. There was a baseball theme this time.

The vice president of development says it’s important to give back. The foodbank says this an event they hold regularly. They’re always looking for volunteers to help.
