CENTRAL ILLINOIS — Seniors are getting advice on how to deal with scammers.
State Senator Scott Bennett (D) helped organize three events in Rantoul, Danville and Champaign Wednesday. The goal is to help the elderly avoid identity theft.
He says it’s a growing issue and he wants to give people updated information on what scams are out there. One woman says you can never have too much information.
Senator Bennett says the state sees more and more fraud cases every year. It means the people running those scams are getting better at it.
