Registry to better help special needs community during emergencies

News

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Two groups are working together to better help the special needs community in Effingham.

The police department and sheriff’s office are updating their special needs registry.

If first responders are called to an address, it would let them know someone with special needs lives there.

People can also provide information about appropriate care in case of an emergency.

The registry is voluntary.
