Public Health officials prepare for coronavirus


ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Department of Public Health officials said the risk of coronavirus in Illinois is low. However, the state is still taking steps to prepare for it.

So far, there have been two confirmed cases in Illinois. Those were in Chicago. Public Health officials said they have implemented testing for the virus.

The Department is also doing hospital assessments to make sure there are enough places for patients in the event that the virus does become widespread.
