ILLINOIS — Families in need across Central Illinois will soon be getting more food on the table.
The Illinois Pork Producers Association donated nearly 13,000 pounds of it Tuesday.
The meat was given to the Central Illinois Foodbank which will distribute the food to hunger relief organizations around the state.
The food, donated as part of Pork Power, is from local pork farmers who want to do their part for the community.
The food will be given out as part of nine million pounds of food the Central Illinois Foodbank hands out annually.
