Police warn about coronavirus scams

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Officials are warning people of coronavirus scams.

Decatur Police Officers said scams include:

  • Fake treatments
  • People claiming to sell medical supplies
  • Charities
  • Fake apps designed to track the virus

They said you should be wary of unsolicited emails and to independently verify if any posts you come across or any emails you get are authentic. Also, research any charities or crowdfunding websites.
