CHAMPAIGN — Police responded to a robbery at Busey Bank, on the corner of Windsor and Duncan, about 11 am, Thursday. It’s the second bank robbery in the area in three days.

Even the Champaign County Sheriffs Office said the amount of robberies happening in Champaign seems unusual, but it’s difficult to figure out why they are happening so frequently.

They say typically robberies tend to happen at gas stations, or other places with lower security.

About six officers and a K-9 unit searched the area, but couldn’t find the suspect. Some say they’re worried about all the robberies.

No other information has been released.
