Police: 1 suspect hits 2 gas stations


CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — Authorities are investigating two armed robberies, believed to have been committed by the same suspect.

The first happened about 1:30 am, Tuesday, December 27, at Circle K Gas Station, in the 400-block of Dunlap, Savoy. One man, armed with a handgun, entered the store, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

About 3:30 am the same day, Urbana police responded to the Circle K Gas Station in the 800-block of West Green Street, for an armed robbery.

The suspect in both crimes is described as a man, white, 5’2″, thin build, between 18 – 25 years old. He was wearing a black, blue, turquoise, white and gray hooded sweatshirt, blue gloves, blue jeans and tan boots. He was carrying a white, gray and black backpack with orange trim.
