One hurt in shooting

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are investigating a shooting. It happened about 10:15 pm, Tuesday, in the 700-block of Crescent Drive. A 25-year old man was struck once and sustained a non-life-threatening wound.

He was inside the residence and was hit by a bullet from gunfire outside. Multiple shell casings were found at the scene and at least two apartment sustained damage. There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with surveillance equipment should contact authorities to help in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact police who can arrange to speak privately with you. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may also submit tips to Crime Stoppers.

Authorities remind citizens information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous. Calls are routed to a third-party national call center which receives your information, completes a tips information form then passes it to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.
