National honor for teacher

MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — A teacher is getting national recognitions for here heroic actions two years ago.

In September 2017 Angela McQueen stopped a shooter in the school cafeteria.

Now the district says she has received the Carnegie Medal.

McQueen and several others from throughout the U.S. and Canada were honored for risking their lives to save others.
