UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS — The UI Medical School is one step closer to being able to recruit students, but first, it needs to get preliminary accreditation.

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education will do a survey of the college in June.

Members will spend three days checking out the school’s progress, curriculum and facilities.

The College of Medicine intends on admitting its first class of 32 students in the fall of 2018.
