Man arrested after firing gun during argument


CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A 27-year-old man was arrested after police say he shot a gun while arguing with his girlfriend.

Officers say they responded to the area of 4th Street and Tyler Avenue. Witnesses told police Jemal Hancock fired a gun while arguing with his live-in girlfriend and in front of their baby.

He was arrested and taken to the Coles County Jail.
