This year for “no shave November” our Anthony Antoine is doing something special to bring awareness to a program that helps thousands of kids across the country have their wish come true.
In 2014, Anthony did a story about a young man named Sam Mitchaner. His biggest dream in life was to go to a Chicago Bears game, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation made it happen.
Because of Sam and countless of kids having their wish come true with the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Anthony is helping raise money throughout this month.
You can help do that by donating on the make a wish foundation’s website. You can find this link on our Facebook page, WCIA Morning Show. Once you’re there, just click the donation option to help make a child’s wish come true.

SAM MITCHANER SEEMS LIKE YOUR AVERAGE 10 YEAR OLD.
COMES HOME FROM SCHOOL, PLAYS VIDEOGAMES
AND WITH LEGOS.
SINCE BIRTH THOUGH HE’S BEEN BATTLING A LIFE THREATENING HEART CONDITION.
“my heart couldn’t beat on it’s own so they had to put the pacemaker in to help my heart beat.”
IT’S HIS BESTFRIEND.
“I call my pacemaker Pacey”
“If I can suck in enough you can see it usually it pops out”
ONE DAY PACY STOPPED WORKING.
Chris Mitchaner (Mom) “one of his wires became fractured and we knew something was wrong.
SAM STARTED FEELING COLD — THEN THE UNTHINKABLE.
“I fainted in my dads hands and then they had to call 9-1-1.
HIS HEART STOPPED BEATING FOR 45 MINUTES.
“We didn’t know if they would be able to do anything”
DOCTORS WERE ABLE TO GET PACEY WORKING AGAIN.
(shot with pacemaker in hand)
HE’S A HUGE FOOTBALL FAN
AND HE’S TAKEN SOME HARD HITS JUST LIKE HIS FAVORITE FOOTBALL PLAYER JAY CUTLER.
“I wasn’t too impressd with the coach yesterday I dont think the called some of the right plays.”
THAT SAID HE WATCHES ALL THE GAMES AND HAS EVEN VISITED THE BEARS LOCKER ROOM.
BUT HE’S NEVER SEEN THEM PLAY IN PERSON.
THAT’LL ALL CHANGE.
(NAT BITE)- “Your going to practice on Friday and a limo is picking you up…..awwww”
AND THE BIG GAME ON SUNDAY.
Chris Mitchaner “we can’t thank people enough for being this generous to our son.
THE TEAM EVEN SENT HIM A FEW GIFTS
HE’LL NEVER BE ABLE TO PLAY QUARTERBACK LIKE CUTLER.
BUT HE’LL ALWAYS BE CLOSE TO THE GAME.
Sam Mitchaner “since i cant play contact sports because of my pacemaker i would like to be an announcer for football.
