Local officer wins crimefighting award

CHAMPAIGN — The police department’s chief deputy is being nationally recognized for his work fighting crime.

Troy Daniels received the Chairman’s Award. It’s Crime Stoppers highest honor.

The award was presented in recognition for all his work for the organization and federal government throughout his career.

Daniels is the former coordinator of Champaign County Crime Stoppers.
