URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Usually when you go to a museum, you see displays standing still. One area museum offered a very lively taste of culture.
It was the 14th annual World Fest at Spurlock Museum. The idea is to bring in performances and storytelling from all over the world. Countries represented ranged from Georgia to Brazil to India.
Organizers say they enjoy experiencing things they might not have seen or heard before.
“What I like the most is the fact that I get to experience the world in an afternoon. And I love being able to work with people here on campus who know people from around the world,” said Kim Sheahan.
The event was designed for people of all ages. It’s sponsored in part by the Illinois Arts Council.
