VILLA GROVE, Ill. (WCIA) — Construction for the new water facility is finally underway.
Water problems in the village were first reported in 2016 when a woman found a worm in her water.
The town was able to get a loan and grant money from the EPA. Construction on the $4 million project will finally start.
The project manager says the new plant will do more than just filter water. The new facility will still use the same wells.
The project manager believes, once the new facility is built, the old one will be torn down. They hope to have it up and running by Spring.
