VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The jury trial for a man charged with sexually abusing a teenager has been continued.
41-year old David Woodrow is accused of touching the boy in 2011. The state’s attorney says they got to know each other through a theater and opera company.
They reportedly got so close, the teen’s parents occasionally let Woodrow pull the victim out of school. That’s when authorities think the abuse happened.
Since his arrest, parents in the area have been lobbying the school district for more support for victims of sexual abuse.
Woodrow was also permitted to be around minors while at his job at the Beef House. He previously entered a plea of not guilty. His trial has been continued to January.
