Women arrested w/counterfeit cash

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WCIA) — Two women face charges after police found them in possession of  counterfeit money and drugs.

Cherith Hadnott, 23, and Aniya Harris, 22, both of Indianapolis, were arrested for felony possession of counterfeit currency as well as possession of marijuana and theft, both of which are misdemeanors.

A trooper pulled over the women’s vehicle on I-74, about 6 pm, Wednesday, traveling 87 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone.

The driver, Hadnott, was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended license. She faces the additional charge of false informing.

Authorities say the women allowed a search of the vehicle. Another trooper and K-9 officer assisted the arresting officer during the search.

They recovered 11 counterfeit $100 bills, $1,425 US currency, a counterfeit detector pen and marijuana.
