CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A woman faces charges for shooting a man. It happened about 1 pm, Monday, in the 1000-block of North Cunningham, Urbana.
27-year old Geneshia Grey was found outside a Champaign hotel, about 5:15 pm, Monday and was taken into custody.
Police responded to the scene and were told a 20-year old man drove himself to the hospital with gunshot wounds. He is listed in critical condition with non-life-threatening injuries to his head and arm.
Witnesses told police the man and a woman were sitting in a car in the parking lot before the shots were fired. They reported a woman, holding a baby, fled the scene.
Other witnesses reported seeing a woman, with a similar description to the suspect, getting a ride from a stranger in the 1000-block of Kerr.
Authorities say they’re interested in speaking with anyone who might have had contact with Grey near the location of the shooting shortly after the incident.
