SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — United Airlines is discontinuing service to Willard Airport.
In June 2017, the major airline announced it was bringing new flights to the Savoy airport. As of September 5, 2018, it will no longer offer flights to or from there.
Airport director Gene Cossey says they were notified Friday morning. He was told the nationwide pilot shortage was the main reason.
There’s no word when or if the service might resume.
