Two arrested for Subway robbery

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Two people are in custody in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night.

It happened at the Subway, 2713 N. Vermilion at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night.

The suspects fled on foot with cash.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Police say they stopped a vehicle Wednesday morning and arrested two men for the crime.

 

Larry Thomason says “Detectives recovered the stolen monies and a handgun,” He said.  “Both subjects are currently being held on preliminary charges of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.”

One subject arrested is Cameron Johnson, 18, of Danville.  The other subject is a juvenile, 16 years of age and is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
