ILLINOIS (WCIA) — When it comes to the top actors in the state, the Land of Lincoln has more than its  share. But, only one can have the distinction of being #1 for the state’s bicentennial.

It goes to Dick Van Dyke. From Rob Petrie, in the Dick Van Dyke Show, to Bert the chimney sweep in Mary Poppins, Danville’s own was chosen as part of the Illinois Top 200 Project.

Bill Murray came in second and fellow Danville native, Gene Hackman, came in third.
