SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The name of the toddler who died last week has been released.
Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards says 2-year old Zamari Drew was pronounced dead about 5:30 pm, Thursday, after being recovered from a residential pool.
Preliminary results of an autopsy shows he died as a result of drowning. The sheriff’s office is investigating.

PLEASANT PLAINS, Ill. (WCIA) — A toddler is dead after drowning in a backyard pool. It happened Thursday afternoon, in the 5400-block of Durango Trail. The child was 2-years old.
The parents called for help when they could not find the child inside the home. They searched for half an hour before police arrived.
Police say they searched the premises before realizing the child was in the pool.
Sheriff’s officials remind parents to take precautions around pools during the summer, give kids swim lessons as early as possible and put up barriers to avoid accidents.

PLEASANT PLAINS, Ill. (WCIA) — A toddler is dead after drowning in a backyard pool.
It happened in the 5400-block of Durango Trail. Authorities say they were called out after 5:00 pm, Thursday, where they found the 2-year old child in the family’s pool.
Officers say the water was murky and a diver had to get the child’s body out of the pool. The incident is under investigation.
