SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — After a family’s daughter passed away from a rare syndrome, her parents are raising awareness about it.
Angela Anderson passed away at 22 from Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It’s an allergic reaction to medicine. Her parents are working to raise money for research.
The Savoy 16 Movie Theater helped by asking people buying movie tickets to round up to the nearest dollar and donate the difference. Anderson’s dad says he is so grateful.
The fundraiser ended Thursday, but the opening weekend of the new Avengers movie started the event raising more than $1,400.
