CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — A 16-year old who was airlifted to a hospital after a car crash is now recovering and is in good condition.
Braden Sorrell has a long road to recovery, but he’s doing better. He had a collapsed lung, spinal cord injury and broken shoulder. It’s from last week’s wreck between Arthur and Lovington.
Moultrie County troopers say his car was traveling at a high speed and he over-corrected. The car rolled and Sorrell was thrown. He had serious injuries and was life-flighted to a hospital.
Sorrell was heading to a football cookout. Authorities credit other players for saving his life because they saw the crash and called it in.
Sorrell still has to undergo surgery for his shoulder and wear a brace for several more months.
