Teachers get surprise donation

Local News

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — About a hundred Urbana High School teachers ended their day with a surprise.

The Urbana High School Alumni Association donated $5,000 in gift cards to the I.D.E.A. Store.

Every teacher was given $50 dollars.

It’s to celebrate the I.D.E.A. Store moving to Lincoln Square in Urbana.

Teachers say they were overwhelmed with joy.

“We’re really surprised, as teachers we love doing what we can for our kids, I go to the I.D.E.A. Store for craft paper and little bits and pieces, colored pencils and markers, and it’s always great for us to get help with our school supplies, because teachers put in tons of money into classrooms.”

The I.D.E.A. Store opens in its new Lincoln Square location on October 24th. The grand opening is set for October 27th.
