GIBSON CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — This Teacher to Know wants to be a friend to her students.
Lori Frashier teaches Spanish at Gibson City Melvin Sibley High School. Frashier says teaching is her passion.
She originally thought she wanted to be a math teacher, but once she started learning the curriculum for Spanish, she changed her mind. Frashier has been at GCMS for the last two years.
She starts class by asking students how their days are going. She says it’s because the students are the reasons she comes to work each day. She says it’s the job she was meant to have.
Students from Spanish 2 are working on a project to share with younger kids. They’re making books written in Spanish. Frashier says she thinks it’s a fun subject to teach.
