MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — It might be a little hot to take a walk, but when the temperature cools down, Our Town has the perfect place to wander miles and miles of walking paths.
Six miles of them run through the entire town. You can walk, bike or even rollerblade. The Parks and Recreation Department helped design the routes.
While on them, you’ll notice several scenic sites. One is the walking bridge over the Sangamon River. The goal is to get more people exploring nature.
Waldinger hopes to eventually extend the paths. They’re always looking for new ways to go. The paths run east and west and connect the downtown corridor all the way to the library.
