Suspect uses knife & coffee in hold-up

CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating the armed robber/aggravated battery at an area gas station. It happened Saturday, April 1, about 5:45 am, at Circle K, in the 2300-block of Springfield.

The suspect threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money. When the clerk refused, the suspect threw a cup of hot coffee on the clerk before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as an older man, black, 5’8″, medium build, black and gray hair. He was wearing a dark-blue hoodie with a white liner.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. Tipsters are always 100% completely anonymous.

All tips submitted to Crime Stoppers are electronically stripped of any personally identifying information and processed by a third-party answering service, not law enforcement.
