DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Happy School Year! You heard right. Tuesday, classes started at Northeast Elementary Magnet School. It’s the city’s only balanced calendar school.
Students weren’t the only ones with first day jitters. New principal Markesha Parker also started. The Danville native has worked at Liberty Elementary School and DHS. She says her first day went great.
Parker says her goals are to grow the AVID program, meet student needs inside and outside of class and foster open communication with parents.
