UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Researchers need more dog parents to take a nutrition survey.
The UI Department of Animal Sciences launched an online survey in August. So far, about 2,000 people have responded, but they want 1,000 more people to participate.
The survey focuses on “the practices of pet owners in terms of their lifestyle, dietary choices, and food behavior, and how they translate those practices to their pets.”
Researchers will analyze the results to understand how humans make dietary choices for their dogs.
They may also use the results to develop educational materials for owners about nutritional needs while also possibly assisting the pet food industry in developing products tailored to owners’ habits and preferences as well as dogs’ nutritional needs.
