Student’s invention designed to improve health

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS (WCIA) — A UI student is just steps away from being on Shark Tank. One Smart Diet is a pocket-sized health monitor which measures body composition.

Chang Hun Lee was inspired to make the device when he was diagnose as pre-diabetic at 16-years old. Lee teamed up with the Geis College of Business. Now his device is being sold worldwide.

He says people are getting a lot of disease, like type two diabetes and hypertension because of a lack of muscle and too much body fat. Lee hopes the device can really help people with their health.

He says it could help people as they age because muscles change ad people get older. The device sells for $99 including a free app.
