Students help rescue animals

Local News

VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) —  Three students at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School helped rescue seven possums.

Isabelle Snapp, Cloe Amos, and Gracie Liles (pictured below) found a possum in the road which led them to more in brush.

That’s where they found the dead mother with babies still in her pouch.

After the girls fed them that night, they took the baby possums to the U of I Animal Rescue the next day.

Some of them survived and will go into a rehab program to be reintroduced to the wild.
