Students active practice social justice

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Students and teachers from Centennial High School cut lunch short Wednesday to go vote.

Eligible 18-year olds cast their ballots at Leonard Recreation Center. Younger students joined to see how the process works.

Social justice students Camryn McClard and Sophie Brown made it happen. They say they want to increase voter turnout for young people who are often busy on Election Day, so they found a way to fit it in during school.

The students are returning Thursday during lunch.
