Store put on lockdown

Local News

MATTOON, Ill. (WCIA) — Walmart was put on a lockdown Friday afternoon.

A witness inside the store said it happened around 3:45 p.m. and was lifted around 4:15 p.m. They say they saw police inside the store with their guns drawn, but never heard any shots fired.

Officials with the police department told WCIA they will have more information available on Monday.

Walmart’s corporate office says they are aware of the situation and working with state and local authorities.

This is a developing story.
