ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Prescriptions are expensive, but people here pay more than most of the US.
A new study by The Senior List ranks Illinois eighth in the nation for spending the most on drugs.
In total, more than $23 billion is spent in the state annually. Texas tops the list at more than $42 billion.
The study states seniors are hit the worst since they normally need multiple prescriptions and usually only have fixed incomes.
