Squad car spreads autism awareness

Local News

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — The initiative was started a couple years ago and, since then, it’s continued to grow. Now, you can see it on local police cars.

The department wanted to bring awareness to things in the community. This month, it’s autism. Lt. Justin Bouse says he put the decal on himself. It’s one of many he wants to get the department.

It’s a way to increase awareness and remind them of others in their communities. Bouse says they’ve received a lot of support on social media.

They also have decals for breast cancer. They hope to get more in the future.
