CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — A few parks are getting some upgrades this season.
Crystal Lake Park, in Urbana, is getting a multi-use path for walking, running and biking. Park officials also just got a nearly $3,000 grant to help buy shrubs for a bank stabilization project.
Also in Urbana, the Phillips Recreation Center will have a new playground; the idea for it inspired by kids.
Spalding Park, well as Noel Park, will be getting new playgrounds over the summer and fall seasons. Zahnd Park is getting new perimeter paths and ADA improvements.
At Heritage Park, the district is working on lake shore stabilization, expansion of natural areas and the concrete path surrounding the lake. Crews will work on grading and completion of sidewalks at Toalson Park.
