Snow removal ordinance

Local News

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — An ordinance requires people to clear sidewalks on their property.

Public works says after the weekend’s freezing rain and sleet showers, some sidewalks are covered with at least two inches of snow and ice.

If your property runs up to a public sidewalk, it’s probably your job to clear it.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, people have 24 hours to do it.
