Skimming devices found at two gas stations

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Police say at least two local businesses had their payment machines compromised by skimming devices.

Investigators say surveillance video identified two suspects.

It happened at Circle K Gas Station at 1301 South Mattis Avenue and Mach 1 Gas Station at 902 West Bloomington Road on Tuesday.

In each video it shows the suspects shopping and then approach the cash register to cash out.  Then one of the suspects distract the cashier while the other one places the skimming device over the credit/debit card processor.

Police say the skimming devices were removed from stores on Wednesday. They do warn people to check their transactions to make sure there is no suspicious activity.
