Sisters targeted in mob-style attack also facing charges

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Police are investigating a fight that put several people behind bars.

Jervon Powell, Brianna Quick, Ja’Toria Currin and Jemarshay Currin were arrested last night after a brawl broke out in a bar parking lot. Two women were beaten with baseball bats and metal poles. The whole thing was caught on surveillance camera. The family owners at Feeling Lucky shared the video with police. 

Witnesses described the attack as a brutal, chaotic scene with roughly a dozen people targeting two women in a mob-style beating.

WCIA has learned that the two women targeted were sisters; one was wanted on an outsanding warrant. Decatur police had a warrant out for 21 year old Jemarshay Currin. 22 year old Ja’Toria Currin was also targeted and arrested. Both sisters face battery charges. 

The swarm of attackers robbed the two girls. 22 year old Jervon Powell faces theft charges. 19 year old Brianna Quick is charged with aggravated battery. 

Witnesses say the sisters were not taken to the hospital, but did have several bruises after the attack.

The car owners say they are cooperating with police in their investigation.
